A true story
The night of their wedding, Sara and Tom snuck away from the reception for ten minutes, sat on the hotel floor still in their dress and suit, and recorded a message into their phones. They talked about the house they were going to buy, the Golden Retriever they were going to name Biscuit, the trip to Bali they kept putting off but swore they would take before they turned 35. They laughed the whole way through.
Five years later, on their anniversary, the phone rings during dinner. They both look at each other. Sara picks up. And they hear themselves — young, in love, completely sure about each other. They cry. Because in that moment they are back on that hotel floor, feeling everything they felt the night it all began.
Every argument about who forgot to clean the dishes, every hard conversation about money, every exhausting season of life — suddenly so small against the size of what they have built together.
Love, it turns out, was always bigger than all of it.
